Letting go of love

How do you let love go?

How do you escape the intensity of those feelings?

Where is the therapeutic healing?

The truth of this love is revealing.

The heart crook came to do some stealing.

How do I erase him from my head?

How do I let go, so I can move ahead?

How to I kill this love so it can forever stay dead?

I no longer want to cry in bed.

All the tears in which I have shed.

Love is an extreme emotion.

All the back massages I gave with lotion.

All the love making motion.

I gave him all of my devotion.

& now to simply wash that love away with the waves of the ocean.

The only person who came close to my heart.

The only one who in my life played a major part.

The only one I adored from the start.

I should’ve stayed away and played it smart

because he now owns my heart.

I must forget this love.

I must rise above.

Set it free like a white flying dove.

Just another story of a heart-break.

A little time to heal is all it takes,

differentiate the true love from the fake.

An experience learned from a mistake.

A tough heart is what it makes.

Another lesson learned.

Another heart break that burned.

I should’ve skipped my turn.

An eternal love that never dies.

An eternal love that compensates for my cries.

An eternal love that is worth the multiple tries.

An eternal love that is unexplainable and I do not understand why,

why my heart belongs to this one particular guy.

It is an emotional high

that makes you feel like you are flying,

flying up, up, in the sky.

An eternal love that never seems to die.
